Topic: OSH–MP 20 : TOWARDS PROFESSIONALISM Date: Tuesday, Nov 29th. Time: 0900hrs - 1700hrs Venue: Pancadelima Halls, Wisma PERKESO, Petaling Jaya. Introduction. The Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan 2020 (OSH-MP 20) is essentially the final stage of a series of three consecutive 5-year action plans that began in 2005 which will culminate in 2020 with achievement of the safety culture. The document contains the pledge by key partners to implement the Plan. The first stage which ended in 2010 was targeted towards spreading out OSH ownership to all key stakeholders and social partners. OSH-MP 15, as the second stage, focuses on building and sustaining the culture of self-regulation and the OSH-MP20 came with the transformation of OSH towards Prevention Culture. The main aim of the OSH-MP 20 is to build a safe, healthy and productive pool of human capital by creating, cultivating and sustaining a safe and healthy work culture in all organizations throughout Malaysia. The development of Professional Experts in all OSH sectors will become one of the main objectives to be achieved. In order to achieve the objectives, it is important that DOSH, Employer and OSH Practitioners to have a strong relationship. This is to ensure that the ‘self-regulation’ concept in OSHA 1994 can be implemented in Malaysia. As for the OSH practitioner, they are the key agent to promote positive relationship between Dosh and Employers. It is through their professionalism and positives work ethics will ensure the successfulness of the liaison.
